As the autumn equinox season arrived in September — what we call Aki-Higan (秋彼岸) in Japan — the sounds of summer insects gradually crossfaded into those of autumn insects in many places.

I returned to Ichikishima Shrine, where I had recorded the feeling of spring air in April. There, too, autumn insects were singing, with faint traces of summer insects still mixed among them.

Perhaps because of the humidity after the rain, crayfish were also wandering about here and there.
